At the end of May 2021, the University of Helsinki deployed a new study information system called Sisu.

Sisu instructions for Open University students

As a student at the Open University, you will need to use Sisu in the following situations:

  • You wish to view information on your registration.
  • You wish to check your student number.
  • You wish to check the validity period of your right to study.

Sisu instructions for University of Helsinki degree students

If you are a degree student at the University of Helsinki and wish to study at the Open University, follow these instructions:

  • First add the course to your study plan, if it is not visible there already.
  • Then select a completion method and teaching in the Open University.
  • Finally, Sisu will guide you to the Open University's course page for you to register there. 
  • Please note that most of the Open University courses have a study fee for degree students, too. Summer courses are free of charge for the attending bachelor’s and master’s students of the University of Helsinki.
