This monthly bulletin brings together the current events and services offered by Career Services. You can find all our services and instructions on the Work and Career page and the Traineeships page. Our services are available to you right from the beginning of your studies and up to about one year after graduation. Make sure to also follow JobTeaser for all events and job and traineeship vacancies!

Come and hear information on how to conduct your traineeship and have your burning questions answered! The info session organised by Career Services and International Exchange Services. During the info session, we'll discuss and respond to your questions on the following topics: How do I conduct a traineeship for my degree? Where can I look for traineeship positions? What are the funding options for traineeships? What about traineeship abroad?

UH SIMHE (Supporting Immigrants in Higher Education in Finland) is inviting you to join our Finnish Language Cafe! In our warm and welcoming space, no registration is needed – just bring your enthusiasm to learn Finnish! Whether you're a beginner or looking to fine-tune your language skills, our Language Cafe is the perfect spot to practice and refine your Finnish in a stress-free atmosphere. Job search retreat (Fin, Eng, Swe)

Should you start doing something concrete to get a job, but you just can't find the time or other things take over just when you need to work with your CV? Don't worry! Come to our job search retreat!
In the retreat you can focus on your job search without distractions. You will work independently, but our career counsellors will also be there to answer your questions. Job search guides, exercises and career support are available in Finnish, Swedish and English. Remember to bring your own computer.

Are you looking for a summer job or traineeship for next year? Or do you need help finding a job, exploring career opportunities, or finding a thesis topic? HelsinkiUNI Career Day is back in January: this time as a two-day event!
In the Career Day 1 on Monday 20.1. you can get support and advice from career services on your job search and career planning. Career Day 2 on Friday 24.1. will give you the chance to put these lessons to good use, as the event will feature virtual opportunities to meet with companies and organisations interested in hiring University of Helsinki students. You can choose to participate in both days' programmes or just in the individual sessions.
The event is open to all University of Helsinki students and recent graduates. More information about the event will be published on the JobTeaser portal and the Studies Service during December and January. Mark your calendars now and stay tuned!

Are you seeking guidance on how to apply for a job or traineeship position? Do you need practical tips for job searching or drafting your CV, job application, or LinkedIn profile, or would you like to get feedback on them? Welcome to our Drop-in support for job search on Zoom!
No registration needed, individual time slots 20 minutes each. The Zoom link and instructions for attending are available on the Career Services' Guidance and Counselling page.

Traineeship guidance and career counselling by appointment (Fin, Eng, Swe)
At the traineeship guidance you can ask any questions you may have about your traineeship and talk about your situation together with a Career Services' traineeship specialist.
Career counselling supports the development of self-awareness, exploration of career aspirations and opportunities, decision-making, and future planning. You can book an appointment with a university’s career counsellor whenever you have concerns – also at the very beginning of your studies. Please note that this is one of our most popular services, and appointments fill up quickly.
New appointments for traineeship guidance and career counselling are opened on the booking page Vihta on the last Wednesday of each month around 10.30–11.00 am (see exceptions on the booking page).
Register on JobTeaser and win interrail tickets for two!
If you haven't registered for JobTeaser yet, you should do it now! At the same time, you can participate in a competition for two interrail tickets worth over 1,000 euros. Click this link, register with your helsinki.fi email address and participate in the competition (at latest on December 10th). When you are logging into the service for the first time, please select your field of study for your profile.
Internationally, the JobTeaser career portal offers you access to almost 30 000 job and traineeship offers. You can find job and traineeship offers submitted through the joint website of Finnish universities by filtering the view by selecting University of Helsinki job ads - Targeted jobs.

Tip of the month: Get ready to apply for summer jobs and traineeships!
In Finland, many summer jobs and traineeships open for applications between December and February, so now is the perfect time to get ahead! Clarify your preferences, prepare for your job search, and update your application documents. We’ve got plenty of tips and support to help you along the way.
