Several language and communication courses will begin at the Language Centre in the fourth teaching period. They cover several languages and skill levels and offer completion methods ranging from independent study to on-site instruction. You can register for Language Centre courses and examinations in Sisu. Registration for courses in the fourth teaching period is now open and will conclude on 2 March 2025.
Courses offered in the fourth teaching period include:
Academic interaction skills and academic writing skills (Finnish)
Popularization of Science (Finnish) (KK-AI011, 4 cr, remote teaching)
This remote course shows you how to make science communication more accessible. You will acquire the skills and confidence to communicate effectively in interviews, podcasts and blogs as well as on social media.
Academic Writing in Finnish as a Second Language (KK-FIN05, CEFR B2, 2 cr, online teaching)
Have you only just started studying? Are you interested in learning how to write academic texts in Finnish? Do you need support, for example, in writing essays? Would you like feedback on the structure and style of your writing? Welcome to the course Academic Writing in Finnish as a Second Language!
This course is suitable for you if you were educated in Swedish or completed the Finnish as a Second Language (S2) syllabus in upper secondary education, and you have just started studying and wish to practise academic writing in Finnish.

This course is for students with learning difficulties or other specific challenges in studying Swedish, such as stress or language-related or similar anxiety.
