Sisu instructions: Applying for module content approval

• Always make sure that you are editing your primary study plan before submitting an application concerning content.
• You can submit applications concerning content only for a study plan that is consistent with your study right.

You can request approval for a study module or for a section of your study plan. This will be shown in your study plan as a section or sections whose header row says ‘Approval required’. Request for approval as follows:

1. Go to the Structure of studies page.
   
   
2. Make sure that you are processing your primary study plan.
3. Click the name of the section of your study plan.
   
   
4. Make the selections according to the instructions in the selection assistant that opens on the right. Please note that the study module must be in accordance with the rules. Click the 'Apply for module content approval' button. If the button is grey, your selections are not in accordance with the rules. If this happens, you need to fix your selections and try again.
   
   
5. The text ‘Approval requested’ can be seen in the plan and in the selection assistant.
   
   
6. If you are about to graduate, send an e-mail to your own faculty's student services. Write "Graduating student, application submitted in Sisu" as the header of the e-mail. State in the e-mail that the application is a request for  approval for a study module.
7. After your selection has been approved, the text ‘approved’ or ‘conditionally approved’ can be seen in the section of your study plan. If the approval is conditional, you can see the conditions of the approval by clicking the link Show in the selection assistant.
8. You will receive a message about the decision on the frontpage of Sisu. You can also find the message when you click the Messages icon in Sisu’s main menu.

Cancelling the application

An application can be cancelled if it has not been approved yet:

1. Open the selection assistant by clicking the heading of the section of the study plan where you have made the application.
2. Click the link ‘Show’ next to the text ‘You have applied for the approval’.
3. Click the Cancel application button at the bottom of the pop-up window.

Relinquishing approval

You can relinquish the approval of your application if necessary.

1. Open the selection assistant by clicking the heading of the section of the study plan where you have made the application.
2. Click the link ‘Show’ next to the text ‘You have applied for the approval’.
   
   
3. Click the Relinquish approval button at the bottom of the pop-up window. Confirm the relinquishment by clicking the Yes button.
