Actual teaching programmes
The actual teaching programmes for bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programmes along with the Language Centre will be published as a rule by the end of June. The exact time of publication of the teaching programmes varies slightly, degree programmes and the Language Centre will notify students of the specifics if necessary. Final teaching programmes contain information on course implementation and completion methods, timetables, teachers and facilities.
- Teaching programmes are published in Sisu and in the Studies Service course search.
- Information on open university teaching will also be published on the Open University website in July. You can already find the Information about the 2025 summer courses on the website. Please note that you can use the search on the website to find, for example, courses for which free-of-charge places have been reserved for Bachelor's and Master's degree students at the University of Helsinki.
Teaching is classified as contact, distance, blended and online teaching
Have you noticed that courses that include teaching are now classified according to whether they are contact, distance, blended, or online teaching? You can see the form of teaching in the preliminary teaching programme and, after the publication of the actual teaching programme, on the course pages. You are also able to search for courses by teaching form in the Studies Service course search.
- Contact teaching is entirely on campus.
- For distance teaching, you can attend from wherever you want.
- Courses delivered as blended teaching include both contact and distance teaching.
- Online teaching does not include any scheduled classes. The viewing of recordings and other activities may be subject to deadlines or, for example, a weekly schedule.
Please note that courses including any of these forms of teaching may also include independent study, groupwork and/or examinations that can be scheduled and that can be completed remotely or on site. For more information about the teaching forms, see the page How studies are completed.
