Order a Transcript of Studies

By selecting a degree programme you are able to see the general content as well as the possible degree programme-specific content. You do not have to select a degree programme to see the Open University's instructions.

You need an electronically verified or printed transcript of studies if you are asked to provide official proof of the studies you have completed at the University of Helsinki. You may need to do so, for example, when applying to another higher education institution or in response to an official request. Please contact the recipient to confirm the transcript format required.

Electronically verified transcript of studies

You can order an electronically verified transcript of studies in Sisu. Please see here for detailed instructions for placing an order. Please note that an electronically verified transcript of studies ordered in Sisu is an official transcript even though the word ‘unofficial’ appears on it. This text will be removed once the deployment of Sisu has progressed further.

If you cannot order a transcript in Sisu (e.g., your user account is not valid):

  1. You can share information on your studies through the My Studyinfo service. My Studyinfo is an official database maintained by the Finnish National Agency for Education, with information encompassing, as a rule, all your higher education studies and study rights as of 1995. The My Studyinfo service enables you to restrict the information on completed studies you wish to share. Information can currently be shared in Finnish and Swedish. If you need a transcript of studies in English, please see item 2 below.

Logging in to the My Studyinfo service requires identification with an online banking ID, a mobile certificate or an identity card with a chip. Log in to the My Studyinfo service

NB! New information on completed studies can be accessed in My Studyinfo with a delay of a few days.

  1. You can send an order request to studentinfo@helsinki.fi. In such cases, an electronical transcript of studies will be delivered to you by email. Be sure to indicate your student number when placing the order.

If you need an official printed transcript, please read the instructions below.

Free-of-charge paper copy of the transcript of studies

You can obtain one official printed transcript of studies free of charge per term if you are an attending student (including students pursuing exchange, non-degree and Open University studies as well as studies under the Flexible Study Right Scheme JOO) and you hold a valid right to study.

You can collect the transcript from Student Services or order it to be delivered by post.

Exchange students can also collect a transcript of studies from Student Services or order it to be delivered by post during the term following the end of their right to study. If the term ends before they collect the transcript, they cannot receive one afterwards.
