Services for students in summer 2026: check exceptions to opening hours
Many services for the University community and buildings at the University are closed or have limited opening hours in the summertime. However, there are many services to support your studies also during the summer.
Check the up-to-date situation on the webpage of each service:
- Student Advice
- Examinarium exam rooms
- Open University Student Advice
- International Exchange Services
- Services for doctoral education
- Aleksandria and the University Library
- National Library
- Think Corner
- Opening hours for University buildings
- Unicafe
- Sodexo
- HYY's Services Office (Please note also the changed location of the office!)
- Child care service Little HYY
- UniSport
- The Finnish Student Health Service FSHS
Please note that delays in the email response time can be expected in all services during the summer months.
HelsinkiUni Help is here for you all summer
The University’s new general advice service HelsinkiUni Help is open throughout the summer. Services are available on a more limited basis than during the academic year:
- Service requests can be submitted as usual throughout the summer.
- The chat and service points have reduced opening hours in July.
Check the summer opening hours on HelsinkiUni Help's opening hours page.
Contacting teachers in summertime
During the summer, teachers focus on research and take their annual leave at some point during the season. No office hours are held in summer, and teachers are generally not required to be available to students between June and August unless they are teaching summer courses. If supervision is offered during the summer period, your home faculty or degree programme will provide separate instructions.
