Registration in Sisu
The registration for the Language Centre courses or examination is done online via Sisu. Read the registration instructions carefully. Registration is done on the Registration page in Sisu after you have added the course to your primary study plan and selected the completion method and course unit. If a completion method has more than five course units, you can get all course units visible by clicking Show more under the undermost course unit. NB! To avoid possible errors, please don’t register via Sisu’s Search page. Always start registration via your primary study plan.
If Sisu gives the following reason for rejecting your registration ‘The correct version of the course is included in the primary study plan’, Sisu will advise you to add the course to your plan. However, if the course is already included in your primary study plan, but you still receive the above message, please check from the course brochure that you have selected the most recent version of the course available. Once you have switched to the most recent version, you need to register for the course again. You can find more information under Registration errors.
The registration method mostly used for the Language Centre courses is the standard registration in which students are selected for courses based on the courses’ selection criteria. Course’s selection criteria for registration can be, for example, being a part of a certain target group (faculty or degree programme). For some courses, the course teacher selects the students based on questions asked in connection with registration. The order of registration is not important in the Language Centre’s course registration. Registrations will be confirmed after the registration period is over. In some courses (e.g. self-access courses), the used registration method is the registration with direct confirmation in which your registration will be confirmed automatically right after your registration.
In the Language Centre’s courses, you will be selected only in one of the parallel course units of the same course. However, it is recommended that you register for all the course units that would be suitable for you. In few courses, certain course units are reserved for graduating students. These course units are primarily intended for graduating students, but other students can also register to them. In these course units, the course teacher selects the students based on questions asked in connection with registration. However, if you are graduating in the near future, it is recommended that you register for all the course units that would be suitable for you. Further information can be found on the Language Centre’s registration instructions.
Please read the registration instructions carefully and register in a responsible manner. You can cancel your registration for teaching as long as the registration period or the cancellation period is valid. If the course has already started, instead of cancelling you must discontinue the course unit. If you cannot cancel your registration or discontinue the course unit in Sisu, please contact the teacher of the course unit directly.
