Services for students in the summertime 2025
Many services for the University community and buildings at the University are closed or have limited opening hours in the summertime. However, there are many services to support your studies also during the summer.
For example the following services have exceptions to their opening hours. Check the up-to-date situation on the webpage of each service:

Please note that there can also be delays in the email response time during the summer months.
Remember to register for the academic year 2025–2026 during the summer. The annual registration period ends on September 1, 2025.

- Exams on your mind? The Examinarium electronic exam rooms in Kaisa House, Chemicum, Viikki and Meilahti are open throughout the summer following the building opening hours.
- Don’t know where to ask for advice? The Guidance Compass will point you in the right direction. The Student Advice chatbot Hubot is also available all summer long 24/7. You can ask the bot simple, study-related questions.
- Summer can feel like a lonely time when your studies are put on hold. But remember, you don't have to be alone with the experience of loneliness! - Wondering what to do in Helsinki during the summer? Visit the My Helsinki website that offers a vast array of tips on things to do and places to visit!
- Technical problems hindering your summer studies? The University’s IT-Helpdesk and chat are open all summer on weekdays from 9 am to 3 pm. The IT-Helpdesk website and chatbot are also available 24/7 during the summer.
- Are you pondering your future career plans or looking for a job or traineeship? Job and traineeship announcements are published throughout the summer on the JobTeaser portal. The Career Services’ heat-resistant pages Tools for planning your career and future, Tips for Job Search and Frequently asked questions about traineeships are available all year around. And if you’d like to get a little boost on grabbing the essentials of LinkedIn or a fresh perspective on your own career readiness, the easy and insightful LinkedIn Quick Guide (on Moodle), Working Life Now webinar series on Youtube, and career readiness self-assessment site Kudin.fi are ready to help – wherever you spend your summer!
